The DEF Excellence award for 2024 is give HZL Engineers team of Er.. Ramesh Menaria, Er. Abhishek Singh, Er.Sitaram Agrawal for their outstanding achievements in Turning old installations into efficient ones through RE. Repowering means retrofitting and modernizing existing power plant installations. The idea is to replace older parts or equipment with modern ones that are more powerful. In principle, this can be done with any type of power plant or power installation. Wind power, however, is a technology that is particularly well-suited to repowering. It will often be possible for a large coal fire power plant consisting of many fairly old installations to be replaced with a much smaller wind farm. In most cases, the new steam turbines will be both much more powerful and efficient – to the point that fewer installations using up less space can feed in more electricity into the grid. In order to enhance efficiency, the HZL Chittorgarh were facing following major problems :-
1-In line with SBIT commitment and PM vision for achieve net zero carbon emission , HZL have made agreement 450 MW RE power.
2. Combining RE power with Coal fired Power plant can be used to reduce Coal and water consumption.
3. Power cost is the major cost governing factor for metal production
This is achieved first time in Rajasthan to flow RE power from ISTS network to state grid network Through Advocacy with different agencies for flow of RE power under existing open access regulation. These innovative and engineering works lead to Carbon emission reduction: 42000 TCO2e and woter saving Water saving:104000 KL till Aug 2024. In support to this data image attached :-
