A track braking system for a shunting yard is proposed, which has a multiplicity of track brakes , which are arranged along a track section and can act on the wheels of wagons rolling past. A control device , for example a computer, receives information relating to the weight of a wagon or a series of wagons coupled to one another, and determines whether only some or all of the track brakes should act on the wheels of the wagon or of the series of wagons in order to ensure that all the wagons and all the series of wagons are subjected essentially to the same deceleration irrespective of their weight so that rear-end collisions are avoided.
But in the design of BHEL There is No tailing wagon braking system available for BHEL Loco during shunting of Wagons which causes a risk of accident during operation in HZL Plant . The Problem is identified and a team of
Engineers Rounak Sharma, Mohd. Tabish Khan and Yogender singh Rathore start working on finding the appropriate solution to avoid the risk involve in the operation and collectively the succeeded in development of Emergency braking as well as tailing wagons pneumatic braking. So modification done in existing circuit for installing pneumatic braking.
Result of this the minimize or achieve Zero Risk Reduction during Shunting as well as Time reduction rake unloading resulting a saving of 5.8 Crore of rupees by the modification done in house.
